Self Chat is a personal journaling app styled like a messaging app, where every "chat" is a thread you write to yourself. It is designed to work 100% offline.
Self Chat does not have a backend server, does not make network requests, does not use analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, and does not show ads. There is no account to create and no sign-in. Nothing you type, attach, or do inside the app is ever sent anywhere.
All chats, messages, and attachments (photos, videos, voice notes, documents) are stored in a local SQLite database and local file storage on your device only. If you uninstall the app, back up your data first using the in-app "Backup & restore" feature (Settings) — the exported file is yours to store or share however you choose; the app itself never uploads it anywhere.
There's no account and no copy of your data anywhere but your own device, so there's nothing to "request" deletion of from us — deleting is entirely in your hands, and immediate. Delete a single chat or message and it goes to an in-app Trash for 30 days (or you can skip that and delete it forever right away); or use Settings → Data → "Delete all chats & messages" or "Reset app to factory defaults" to erase everything at once. Uninstalling the app removes everything it ever stored, the same way removing any other app does.
Each of these is used solely to provide the corresponding in-app feature and never leaves your device.
Self Chat does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and does not share data with any third party, because it does not collect any data to share in the first place.
Self Chat does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, since it collects no information at all.
